Weekly Update from your local Bablake NPT
Dear Members Here’s your weekly update from myself and the rest of the team.
What’s Been Happening . Burglaries Guess what? None 😊
. Vehicle Crime Guess what? Two reported this week ☹ These have happened on Northbrook Road and Berwyn Ave. Both vehicles were left locked and secure, but the offender(s) got in and stole items from within.
It’s time to get summer-ready and secure your home, vehicles, and valuables – double checking your windows and doors are locked is key. Never leave your car unattended, running with the AC on, and valuables on show. Over the summer, you will see more officers out in our towns and cities, but there are also ways you can help keep your community safe. Your CCTV helps us solve real crimes. We are urging local businesses, residents, and community groups to sign up to our CCTV registry online: CCTV Registry | West Midlands Police. It only takes five minutes and can help us bring more opportunistic burglars and thieves to justice. You can mark all property with a UV marker making it easier for lost or stolen property to be returned should the worst happen. It is also a good idea to keep a record of where you marked the property and note down any serial numbers. You can register valuables at www.immobilise.com
. In other News Your local team have been out and about getting to know the community. This week we had the pleasure of attending the local Squirrels group. Such a lovely group of 4- to 6-year-olds who were very inquisitive about what police do and trying on the uniform. They loved trying all the different styles of helmets on, but the stab vests were a bit too heavy for them to wear for more than a minute 😊
Apart from having fun with the Squirrels, officers have also made arrests. A habitual shoplifter was arrested AGAIN for the same as he was the week before. Some people never learn. This time he has also had Community Protection Notice served on him with strict conditions. If he breaks them, consequences are harsher. Another shoplifter was also arrested. Once again being appropriately dealt with.
Reminder the next Bablake Police and Community Meeting will be held at Allesley Village Hall at 7pm on 6th August. Please come along and have a chat with your local team. If you have any questions or have any issues you want to make us aware off, this is the perfect opportunity to let us know face to face.
Until next week Stay safe everyone.
